Coolant, also known as antifreeze, is designed to help displace heat from the engine of your vehicle. By moving this heat away from the engine, your coolant helps to lower and stabilize the temperature of your engine block. Circulating the proper amounts of coolant and water protects your engine from overheating and is vital to its longevity. Overheating is one of the most common causes of engine failure. It is important to note that the composition of coolant breaks down over time as a result of the consistent heat to which it is exposed. If coolant is replaced as recommended by the manufacturer of your vehicle, it is likely to increase the life of your engine and lower costs associated with engine failure caused by overheating.
Snappy Lube removes broken-down contaminated coolant with a gravity-fed system that performs a flush of the radiator, heater-core, and engine of your vehicle. The system removes up to 95% of the broken-down antifreeze, rust, and other debris that hinder the performance of your cooling system. As your cooling system is being cleansed, a fresh 50/50 coolant and water solution is added to your vehicle to meet the manufacturer’s specifications. At the completion of the service, we verify that all cooling system parts, hoses, and clamps are free of leaks and in good working order.
